ABOUT LAPA
The Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Cities Laboratory is a research, teaching and extension group that develops studies on urban cultural heritage and the processes of urbanization and architectural and urbanistic production of contemporary cities in their metropolitan dimension. The research lines of this group cover the following themes: urban voids and cultural heritage; built heritage; interpretation of urban cultural heritage; urban form; urban mobility; urban imaginary. The research developed in these lines of research focus on subjects such as: urban intervention, urban legislation, urban visual analysis, conservation of cultural goods, urban and architectural rehabilitation, among others. The research developed by the group supports the elaboration of master plans in areas of cultural heritage, the offering of postgraduate subjects, the organization of seminars, the preparation of articles and books.
